"Did Jesus Just Happen" The Life of Christ

As we continue on the subject of the "Judgment Seat of Christ" Paul emphasized that this is the be universal examination of all believers in the Lord Jesus, for He says, "We must all appear." The word means exactly what it says. There is no one who has accepted Christ as Personal Savior who will be exempted from this examination. It is for believers only.

That which raises a question and a problem in a lot of hearts is the word "Judgement". As soon as you see the English word "Judgment", you bring to mind a court scene where the righteous judge sits to dispense judgment to pronounce sentence upon the guilty.

There is no child of God, if he is honest before God, who does not recognize that he is guilty of sins. "There is none righteous" in his daily walk as God is righteous and even those who have accepted Jesus as Savior fall frequently into sin and it is no less a sin just because it is committed by a Christian. It is common to picture God sitting to mete out a just retributive judgment upon those who have sinned. And yet we do not believe that is the the teaching of this passage.

Before we go any further, let us look at several erroneous ideas that have grown up out of a mis-interpretation of this phrase "The Judgment Seat of Christ."

Next week I will cover all the erroneous ideas concerning the "Judgment Seat of Christ".
