"Did Jesus Just Happen" (The Life of Christ)

The question is who is to be resurrected at the great white throne? Unbelievers are life in the grave, in that state of death, until they are resurrected at the great white throne judgment. John says in revelation 20:12, "And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged out of those things which were written." Thus John is referring to the execution of the curse on the unsaved or the wicked dead. They will not be one single grave occupied by the dust of the body. Every individual will have been resurrected. Those who were resurrected to life will have been with Christ, glorified, transformed, seeing Him face to face with all the company of the redeemed for over a 1000 years.

The un-redeemed must now meet the Judge face to face so the graves are opened and there is a resurrection of all the wicked for death cannot keep its prey. When it speaks of Hades or Hell in the King James Version, He is speaking of the place or the state where these dead ones dwell. The multitudes of the wicked of all ages are gathered together to stand before the One who has just demonstrated the enormity of His power and the righteousness of His judgement by speaking a Word and dissolving the heaven and the earth. Who can conceive of the dread and the fear as men have to stand before that Holy and Righteous Son of God to give an account for their sins?

In revelation 20, verses 12 and 13 we see John talking about the books. "The books were opened, and another book was opened which is the book of life and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books according to their works."

God is a divine book keeper and has been keeping an unchangeable record down through the annals of time.
